did i mention that i love the new starhub HD cable thingy. HBO/Warner movies rock.

i recently watched "City of Angels" with my mom one of the nights. starring Meg Ryan and Nicholas Cage. he's an angel btw. its nice. predictable, somewhat cheesy. but still, it was haunting. the ending especially. its the kind of show that people will have reactions from both extremes. either hate it and think its uber cheesy, or love it and think its uber deep. i think i kinda love it. maybe because there were soooo many close up shots of Meg Ryan's light blue eyes and perfect porcelain face. and so many scenes with celestial beauty that's on earth. i love the soundtrack too. "in the arms of an angel" playing when Meg Ryan and Nicholas Cage we together was definitely and "Aww" moment. and at the end "its in the way you love me" by Shania Twain. i've always thought that song was very "karaoke" but it sounded really soothing and quaintly apt.

then i watched "Notting Hill". thus came the famous line where Julia Roberts, the crazy hard-to-get actress tells Hugh Grant, the boring book store keeper that "she's just a girl, standing infront of a boy, asking him to love her." classic moment. loved this show too... even though i think hugh grant's room mate is really really disgusting. this seemingly boring romantic comedy is really quite hysterical. it was really nice that the film centres around the residential areas in london. it kinda takes you into their lives. what its like to live there. and yes, i loved how it ended too. sitting on the bench, taking an afternoon nap and reading a book.

i wanna do that too.
